Close up, the mid and foreground looks like lots of lines and blobs. Back off a bit, and Wow! it all hangs together. Great painting Anthony..very reminiscent of the great impressionists, but with a modern edge.

Beautiful. You can feel the heat, the seed heads , the dryness & your lovely contrast with the dark hedge & patches of green in the foreground makes it really alive

Anthony, a superbly handled painting! Love the way you've suggested grasses and herbs without slavish treatment. We have lost most of our wildflower, ancient meadows and hedgerows and need to retain and sympathetically manage those that remain. Lets hope your excellent painting isn't the only remaining way we may experience them.

Developed from a recollection of a scene encountered whilst out walking recently. An impression based based on an my own, personal minds-eye view of the yellowness of the uncultivated field. trying to evoke July, hence the title. On stretched canvas
