George Burch

Biography

A self-taught Irish artist living and working in Belfast. A landscape / seascape painter I work in a variety of mediums that includes watercolour, pastel, acrylic and oil. In my work I’m more interested in trying to capture the atmosphere of a scene rather than the specific detail of place and large dramatic skies feature often in his work. In 2014 I was selected as a member of the Ulster Watercolour Society and in 2019 I was elected to the society's council. I’m actively involved in the organization and running of a number of local art / painting groups, and in planning and leading painting workshops and regularly exhibit and sell work through a number of Northern Ireland galleries.
