Super, fun sketch Thea. Love those little people!

Great sketch Thea, like Louise I like the bobbing heads :)

You could so easily do a kids book or an instructional book with this super style. Great

Another lively and interesting sketch, really good series!

Thank you Louise, Val, Joseph and Debs for your nice comments. The sketch was a bit of fun really, but it has actually turned out to be the one I like the best (probably because it isn't of industrial stuff!)

I especially like the spontaneity in your sketches, Thea. Very well done!

Lovely little sketch Thea!

Thank you, Mia - this one was definitely spontaneous as I had a short timescale to do it - a good thing I think. Thank you very much, Satu - that's really kind of you.

Wonderful Thea, and doesn't this seem to sum up the scenes at many of this country's attractions, coaches with loads of tourists arriving in all shapes and sizes, oh the joys of the summer days to come!, it's great tho' Thea and love your hastily painted coach as well and lovely bright colours

A pity about the previous one Thea, it really wasn't as bad as you thought it was, but I agree this is a lot more like you - and probably a lot less like the Museum of Iron ! Lovely spontaneous sketch - and your bus is not bad at all. Looks like we got stuck behind a multiple posting, luckily it didn't completely overpower this one.

Thank you so much Gudrun and Ros for liking my little sketch - really kind of you.

Thank you very much, Sharon. The last sketch just didn't 'talk' to me, if you know what I mean. I much prefer this one as it is more colourful and more fun. (And the MP removed most of his paintings - result!).

So inspiring I can give no better accolade

Thank you, Jon - that's a very generous compliment. I find it hard to believe that I inspire anyone really, but am very flattered that you think so.

I really love this, Thea, especially the spattering that made up the trees! Something I always wanted to do but never quite mustered the courage for it. And you're the only one who could make a bus look delightful!

So this is what you're up to Thea! Full of super quotidian detail that is so easy to take for granted in our quest for 'great' subjects. What a wonderful activity to keep you eyes and brushes sharp - so brave too. Do take it the atelier remains unfinished? PS. Noah much admired.

Thank you very much, Seok. My bus is a bit wobbly but perhaps it suits the quickness of the sketch. As for the spattering - I am rubbish at trees so this is my solution, lol! Thank you very much, Kim. Yes, I have been up to a pastime that usually doesn't attract me. I don't normally paint in a group situation (too much of a maverick to fit in I'm afraid) and also I don't normally draw industrial things. Not sure what you mean about the 'atelier remaining unfinished' ? Glad the public liked your portrait of Noah, but then they jolly well should as it was brilliant.

This is the last sketch I did on my day out with the Sketch Club. I had about 10 minutes left, so looked around to find something that interested me and up drew a small coach which disgorged a pile of small school children and I could see their little head bobbing along behind the hedge. Well, that was the one! Just a bit of fun but then people turning up in coaches are all part of a Museum's life I suppose. Pen and Wash in my Sketchbook.

I am a watercolourist first and foremost as I love the qualities of the medium, its riskiness and unpredictability. I started painting about 8 years ago and it has now become an integral part of my life. Hopefully, I will continue to paint into my dotage as I am given to understand that you can…
