Such a awful situation to be in . Nice painting Tessa and a good reminder of how fortunate we are though we bemoan more trivial things.

Sumptuously applied paint 👏🏼👏🏼

Hits home in more ways than one. Nicely done indeed.

Interesting thought process to come to a painting Tessa. Good to highlight their plight. The dates are superb btw

Thank you so much for commenting Dixie, John, Chris and Martin.

What a heartfelt message your painting demonstrates Tessa. Thank you for sharing this humane story. A wonderful display of compassion.

Bless you Carole and thank you. X

It’s certainly made me think. Excellent little painting Tessa.

Many thanks Marjorie.

I feel for those that arrive to get on a plane with relatives full of hope, which is dashed when they are turned away because of incorrect paperwork! To be so close to safety and then to be left behind…..awful. Fab dates Tessa and your eggs are proper egg shaped….I was told by my last art tutor that my eggs looked like “spuds”……charming lol.

So true Fiona., must be a nightmare. We could always do better, but we seem to have to be forced to do so. You made me laugh about your tutor!

A very sad story and a perfect small painting to highlight the issue.

Thank you Heather. I do think art can and should highlight things outside it’s natural area.

So well stated Tessa…in a simple graphic!

A powerful piece Tessa.

Always glad of your positive comments Alan and Denise, thank you.

This caught my eye, unusual and interesting Tessa. Thanks for sharing the story behind it.

Thank you again Diane.

A beautiful and extremely symbolic work of art !

Thank you Lea. Since I painted this it seems things are even worse in Sudan. Very sad.

I was horrified to hear on a recent news bulletin from Sudan, a lady saying that the only food she had left between her and I think another thirteen people, was four dates and one egg. I believe she got out shortly after, but others left behind must be in the same situation now. The words stuck in my mind. 🙏 Small oil approx 8” x 6”.

About the Artist
Tessa Gwynne

I have returned to painting over the last few years having relocated from Cardiff to the Cotswolds in 2009 and joined the Guiting Power Art Group. Although I did a year's Foundation Course at art college after leaving school, I hadn’t painted much in the interim, except for a few attempts here and…
