Really ,really out of my comfort zone

Good one Sylvia. Its good to come out the comfort zone so good for you. Lots of character. Nice to also see some of your painting office too. 🖼 I also notice of white fluff behind of pic is that Sam? 🐶

It’s my kitchen…lol and a bit of wet kitchen roll. 🐾

That is really well painted Sylvia , stop beating yourself, put it away and look ageing next Saturday. It’s hard when your out of the comfort zone and I think we are terribly hard on ourselves when we are not so sure about it.

Don't turn it to the wall, it's good !

I would look at the lower arm again. Perhaps folds in the shirt would make some sense of it, if you keep to the regime that you have set up of cool light from the right and warm light from the left. Otherwise fine! Don’t beat yourself up!

Thanks everyone ,it has been an interesting painting to do. Yes Linda I see what you mean, there isn’t any form at all n the photograph and the cuff is over her hand. I will have a look tomorrow and give it more of a bend to suggest length and look at the folds… thanks for suggestion.

This is great Sylvia, it's good to be out of your comfort zone, I had the very same feeling, today.

Do some more out of your comfort zone, Sylvia! Yes, a few tweaks to make , the arm and perhaps the neck is a little too long - raise the left shoulder line a little and also the right and the lower arm might be easier to fix. I’m always adjusting….there’s a lot to like here though.

Thank you Denise and thanks for advice Marjorie, I was conscious about her neck length in the photo her head is probably tipped back more than I have indicated. Lengthening the neck. Plus it’s almost black on black… decent light tomorrow will sit and contemplate . 🌻

It' s a striking image Sylvia, I always find the 'strings' so difficult to paint.

You're SO good at experimenting, hats off to you!

Thank you Russell and Heather….to day is correction day.

Well done you.

Thanks Ellen.. I have done a few tweaks to it ,it’s improved it, I think .
