Winter Birches ( A sketch after an original oil by New Zealand artist John Crump )
I thought that I would post the sketch I did during a lesson that I had with a local artist to see how I would get on with Golden Open Acrylics. I had heard so much conflicting information on the 'net that I wanted to try before I buy. It took about an hour and a half, and isn't a finished painting, but it served a valuable purpose. To save time during a very busy couple of months, I used a painting by an artist I much admire to base my lesson on. My personal reaction is that as a substitute for oil paints, I love working with these slow drying acrylics, and I hope to buy a limited number of colours soon.
