War is a mad venture, urged on by the mad, old, and cruel, and paid for by the young and idealistic who have to fight in it. My generation was spared war, on the whole - for which I'm grateful; but it looks as though the lessons are having to be learned all over again. A powerful painting, in a delicate medium.

Caught the bleakness of war and winter. There seems to be more interest this year in remembering past conflicts. No doubt as we have been so shocked by seeing the current war in Europe. I pray 2023 will be less turbulent. ‘Give peace a chance’
