A beauty. Lovely washes

Love the colours you have used in this painting!

You have captured her atmosphere beautifully Stephen.

Superb. Lovely colours and washes.

A superb 'exercise' - like this a lot and the limited colours are great

Your exercise with wet washes has produced a super atmospheric rendition of a popular subject.

The limited palette lends an ethereal, brooding quality to the subject. I also like the use of tonal variation for the perspective. I would have been very pleased if I had painted this, Well done.

Beautifully painted, the limited pallet works do well.

Superb washes and a lovely composition.

Love Eilean Donan as a subject and have done quite a few versions. This is a lovely job Stephen and the blue palette gives it that cold, remote look of the western Isles of Scotland.

Great exercise, super painting Stephen.

A different take on many paintings of this famous place, I like your washes, clever!

Just beautiful - fabulous colours and composition Stephen.

Beautiful, Stephen, love the colours!

Just lovely Stephen.

Excellent painting Stephen.

A super interpretation of an iconic landscape.

Has a lovely mysterious feel, so different to the usual ‘chocolate box’ versions I have often scene.

Great painting , just shows the atmosphere a limited palette can give you, i know this scene well.

Just superb.

Terrific Stephen……brooding in atmosphere.

Many thanks everybody for your constructive comments, I am pleasantly surprised at the reaction to this enjoyable exercise.

Beautifully dramatic, Stephen!

Love this style. Such a lovely use of a limited palette. Chapeau sir!

Shapes and palette a real pleasure to look at. The dark foreground gives lots of depth.
