Now that is great art !

Excellent painting Robert , the old pollarded tree is particularly well done .

A super landscape, Robert. Love the tree!

Nicely constructed tree in particular… certainly adds to the composition. Is this the new Nikon? Looks a fairly good photo.

A lovely painting Robert in every way

Alan - actually, these is the last effort from my old Olympus: and there is a bit of glare, though that's my fault. I have several paintings, one on the go at present, which I shall treat to the new Nikon: I look forward to that ... and I'll re-photograph some of my older stuff, as well. I think three quarters of the trouble with the Olympus was me, to be honest! They aren't bad cameras, but preliminary experiments are showing me that the Nikon is much better.

Great artwork Robert 🙂

Reminds me of a fairytale cottage through the woods Robert, maybe a little scary, but nicely painted.

Okay, it’s better than your last post but I did notice that it wasn’t pin sharp… should be with the Nikon hopefully!

A lovely feeling of being free in the fresh air, with the effect of those sweeping brushstrokes Robert. I wouldn’t like to have to climb that hill though.

A lovely scene, and a lovely painting.

Yes, I’d need crampons for that hill. Good to see your paintings again Robert.

Great painting Robert- and lovely to read you use a camera to photograph your work. Just got my old camera out to photograph my paintings instead of the phone - but it’s not easy…..

Really like this Robert, and am interested in the colours you use.

Excellent work Robert.

Thank you, everyone - about colour: I've used all sorts of palette variations; lead white helps me to mould paint, almost to sculpt with it; yellow ochre deep is a fabulous colour from Michael Harding, as is Scarlet Lake, and I've fallen in love with Mars Orange, this one from Daler-Rowney's Artists' range; Viridian is a deep green I've always preferred to the cheaper Pthalo Green - which is a bully of a colour! It takes over and sneers at you if you're not careful.... but I do use it; just not this time. I'll get to pin-sharp photos! Either with my new camera, or with a Iphone or Ipad, if I really really must.

Very expressive and thanks for your detailed explanations.
