This is a real eye-catcher, Robert. I love the subject and the contrast between the bright sunlight parts and the shadows. It also is a typical 'Robert'-painting, I saw immediately it was one of yours!

AND mainly painted in alizarin and viridian!! This must be the origin of the challenge? Wonderful painting from every perspective - composition, colour, light and tone. Super stuff.

Lovely colour Robert, lovely work!

I really like the composition of this one with that lovely blue sky filtering through the tree branches. Expertly mixed greens and reds too!

This is a lovely feeling of spring coming with the warmth shown within your colours, lovely work Robert! :-)

Lovely. I would have put some people in it, but that's me.

This is so fresh and concise - it really grabs the attention.

Lovely and bright. Wonderful contrasts.

Thanks to everyone: I was interested to read Derek Snowdon's comment, because I had a brief discussion with Malcolm Ludvigsen (who has posted here before) about figures in a painting; on the whole, I don't include them - though have once or twice; and Malcolm prefers on the whole not to have them. But I suspect we're a bit unusual in this respect .... I wonder if I should include more. Maybe next time!

Lovely work Robert, and quite a loose style for acrylics.

I also never include figures in a landscape painting, except once in one 'Alan's challenge' because he had some figures in it. But for my own paintings, I prefer the pure landscape.

Lovely Robert, I like the limited palette and the fence leading you in.

Done with your usual vibrant style. Really stunning work, Robert.

This is from a photo/sketch I made in the Spring before this one; meant to paint it long ago... It's a very approximate version of the path back to the road from St Catherine's Down, near Niton, Isle of Wight; these leaves were out, when nothing else was. 30 by 40cm on cloth covered board.
