Sunset on the River Spey
Just a couple of miles from our house, this is a favourite walk of ours. One afternoon, we just came across this scene approaching sunset, and I just had to paint it. The Spey is a big salmon-fishing river, so the fisherman here could be one of a dozen along the river every day. I love doing 'into sun' paintings like this, and trying to reflect the colours we see in that diffracted evening light.
