Lovely painting Paul and he does look a sweetie!

Thank you Jennifer & Tessa, this was a Christmas commission and I'm sure you know black fur can be a bit of a challenge! :-)

He's a wee beauty, Paul, and those eyes are simply the best. Great portrait! Bri

Love this painting. question, have you painted your hand as part of the picture (if so very clever, I love this technique) or was this part of the photograph of the painting you took?

Thank you Bri, Malcolm and Heather. Hi Heather, yes that is my real hand! LOL I like to photograph my paintings this way to show people the scale of the painting. :-)

Beautifully handled Paul, gorgeous eyes.

Lovely work and right up my street as this is the style I prefer in my own work (ie not “arty-farty” but beautifully realistic)!

How beautiful Paul, Mooney looks a lot like my own cat although mine has only one eye! I love the fact that you have included your hand in the photo to show the size, clever trick! Your gallery looks superb.

Great eyes and overall a lovely painting.

Thank you very much Fiona, Marilyn and Margaret. Yes I try to not to the 'arty farty' type of painting Marilyn and Margaret yes I very often get my hand in shot for size proportions. :-)

Beautiful and so alive! Well done Paul!

Thank you Tony & Paul. Just for info the fur was done in four layers, one of a variegated wash and the others as layered details.

Beautiful painting. such detail and realism.

The cat looks as though he is saying, where are you going with that brush Ha! Lovely painting, not easy with black fur. I like his expression.

Mooney is a lovely little village cat here in North Devon and apparently a big softy!
