Paul, what a brilliant portfolio, you have captured the character of the little birds, the colours and details are just stunning. I think Jo was right as the background pushes the bird forward. Thanks for sharing.

Completed this one today 29th Sept 2012. These little Coaltits are a pain to photograph, they are so darn quick! However this male was a pleasure to paint, well until I messed up the background right at the end after many hours! This one very nearly went in the bin, but Jo convinced me to keep it! :-) Watercolour 225mm x 149mm on SAA NOT paper. http://www.devonartist.co.uk/
