Excellent, you've really caught a twinkle in Mellissa's eyes and captured an inquisitive look on Todd's face. You have a very beautiful daughter and you've produced a portrait to be proud of. We must be thinking along the same lines, I got my daughter to pose for me in a cloche hat last weekend so I can paint her, inspired by Caddell's "The Black Hat". Whether or not it will be good enough to post on POL I will have to wait and see!

Great lively painting. Your daughter has beautiful eyes, so does Todd ! The background is ideal for this colourful portrait. Hope Val shows her painting of 'daughter in hat'.

Lovely expression and sparkling eyes on your daughter's face, she is a pretty lady and I'm sure she is proud of the painting. Let's not forget the dog, I like his expression too.

Hello jeanette, ive posted you a reply on picture....untitled that you made a comment ....about my pictures.....it explained what happened !!!!!!! this pic is gorgeous....is there ..."nothing you can,t paint ??? what a beautifull daughter you have. i,m so angry with myself for what i did with my potfolio.....i could scream!!! or chuck my pc out of the window. lol is there anyone ....dimmer on here than me???? What a lovely portrait, i agree with the others you have captured the expressions well, your daughter must be pleased with it.

Hello Jeanette, thankyou for going round and putting your comments back on my pics....you really are a very sweet person indeed. and as for the gold star,..."its yours by default anyway"! its just that i would hate to think...anyone thought that i had deleted their comments on purpose. thanks again, you are very kind,......as well as being a fabulous artist. best wishes ...irene. a-k-a ( the dim-wit!! ) someone should give me a star (not gold though...more like a rusty old piece of iron! ") lol.

Very difficult to link a smile to the eyes but this one works well.

I'm a sucker for any pictures with animals in and this is no exception. A lovely happy picture - of both of them of course!

Absolutely delightful painting, I would be very surprised if it didn,t have "pride of place" in her house. Regards, Bill

Hi Jeannette, just been having a quiet chuckle to myself, poor Irene so frustrating when that sort of thing happens. Thanks for your kind comments re "self portrait", and I love this one of your daughter and Todd. (Expected to see Jazza) With 3 daughters of my own, I know EXACTLY the sort of comments to expect!! Well done again.

Hi Jeanette, poor Irene, terrible when something like that happens. Love this portrait of your daughter and Todd, expected to see Jazza!! With 3 daughters of my own I know how carefully you have to tread when suggesting things of that nature! Many thanks again for kind comments on my self portrait, will have another look at it and re-post soon.

I asked my daughter could I paint her in an impressionist style. No she said! Painted this - I got 'that's not what I see in the mirror you have made my face look fatter! Now she loves it and is hung in her home! Atelier on Canvas
