Is this a King Charles Spaniel? Great expression, so alert...just look at those eyes ~ Anni

What a cute little face, expertly done.

Thought this was an oil at first - very accomplished, love the roundness of the muzzle.and depiction of the fur.

lovely cute portrait. Very well done Diana.

Thank you. This is a very unkempt rather muddy, very cute little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel right after an exciting walk up on the moors. A gift for a friend. He really is sweet.

This is excellent Diana. This is a lucky friend !

If this is what you can turn out when busy with Xmas and stressed - then I am in DEEP trouble!!! Absolutely wonderful portrait. It must have taken ages. The fur is beautifully and delicately done and the dog's expression is just right. Take a bow, Diana!

A bow? or a bow wow? Thank you Thea and beatrice. It actually took just two evenings. I find pastels much quicker for animals but still don't like the dust.

What a wonderful portrait! Lovely expression - lucky friend. Well done Diana.

Velour is just great for animals. This is no exception Diana. A gorgeous dog - love the colourings you have used.

Thank you Jeannette. I can't do anything else on velour. It seems prefect for fur. (and no loose pastel).

This is delightful, I love it, what a little character. Agree that velour is great for fur, unfortunately I just don't like the feel of it so I very rarely use it, give me pastelmat and colourfix everytime!

Great painting well done.

Excellent image Diana..Your dogs are allways brilliant...Steve.
