Diana...I have never seen a white peacock. What a glorious, striking image you have made of this . You have done a brilliant job handling the whites , especially in watercolour. Love the visual impact of this.

That was the first one I'd ever seen back in the 70s when I lived in Germany. They are stunning but they don't have any "eyes" on their feathers. Sometimes they have the full shaped feather but more often just the bottom half in a curve below where the eye would be. Thank you, doing all that white worried me.

The only white peacock I've seen was in Isola Bella in Italy. You definitely captured it's purity as I remember it.

A very striking image, well done!

This is fantastic Diana! I am going though a bit of a 'peacock' phase myself at the moment, painting cards and making a peacock fabric cushion. I love the peacock colours but your white one is quite magnificent.

I was going to use the word Striking but I noticed Ruth thought so as well!

This has to go on the COVER of one of the magazines leisure or artist !!!!

There's a novel by D H Lawrence, entitled The White Peacock: and this would be the perfect image for its dust-jacket. Well done for plucking up the courage to have a go at it, your courage has paid off.

This is quite stunning, I like it very much.

Not much left to say that hasn't already been said, Diana. what a great painting. jx

Thank you for your comment on my "Wedding Guest". Looked you up and found some stunning images, and this one caught my eye straight away. Having painted in watercolours - now abandoned in favour of acrylics - am more than impressed by this work, given how hard it is to reserve the whites, so this must have been like painting in negative spacing. Painting from photos depends on good photographs in the first place, which means having a good eye for composition, which you evidently have. Nevertheless, this is like watercolour fireworks: love it!

I agree. A wonderful and unusual result!

Not as big as usual. This one is 20 x 15 cm Took a photo of this peacock years ago in Holland and only just plucked up courage to try to paint it.
