Thank you very much

Marvellous drawing with lovely tonal work and I like the reflections

Very well rendered tonal work. It's a lovely piece.

Lovely pencil work. Texture of Glass is rendered very well.

This is very good. Lovely shapes and reflections. Did you get to open ONE of these bottles as a reward!!?

I find the eyelevel appealing in this Di, also a great range of tones, well done.

Ah - this looks like my kitchen - but I'm getting help...... I've done my share of drinking, I mean, done my share of drawing like this, and how I hated it - but it's invaluable training. I like the fact that you've not tried for a "photographic" result, your bottles have the odd straying line and eccentric bits: that's a strength, to me - brings life, and makes you concentrate on the tones, which of course is what this exercise was about.

LOL yes there are a few cockeyed bottle tops in there and the edge of the drop down lid isn't exactly straight. Actually I enjoy the drawing much more than the painting afterwards. I tried oils again with only slight untoward effects. Must have been the thinners last time that made me so ill. The trouble is, by the time you've done the line drawing, then the tonal sketch, then a colour study, you are so sick of the subject you really don't want to paint it. I'd sooner stop at the tonal stage. However I always was a determined *!+$* so I get there in the end.
