buttons are attractive things and make an unusual still life, well done, Diana

Hi Jenny, you certainly have an eye for detail and especially patience! I thought I had plenty of that but you certainly outdo me! The blending of each layer has worked really well, I always end up rubbing too hard with a blending pencil!

Sorry, I men't to say Diana! Now I will hide away in a dark corner.....

Such patience. A super subject, beautifully done. Didn't know anyone had button boxes anymore.

Excellent work again Diana, super detail in each individual button and great range of colours and textures attracting us to linger over the whole scene, the perfect artwork

Thank you all. Paul, I didn't think I'd changed my name LOL- easily done. Sylvia I have two large button boxes; all my relatives were seamstresses. I just wish that so many of them hadn't been khaki or yellowish. I did alter a lot of colours to help the composition but left the smaller more boring ones in the background. A lot of the buttons bring back memories of certain people who wore them. That large one for example was on the collar of my mum's coat, the red and blue ones off my childhood cardigans; the khaki ones from my granddad's WW1 army uniform. They've been used to craft, for jewellery and on lots of new clothes. I still save buttons. Will I do another in CP? Not on your life. Paul I didn't use a blending pencil except on the box. I layer very lightly.

A lovely colorful piece, Diana, and an amazing labor of love!

I can assure you by the time I got half way through it was NOT a labour of love. lol

A lovely, colourful painting Diana. It brings back memories of childhood for me - my gran used to sit me at her table with her button tin and I would spend ages sorting them into colours and shapes. I have done the same with my grandchildren.

A great achievement.

Really well done Diana. The shades in this are cleverly put down. I have a button box too, all kinds of memories in those buttons. Don't think I will be attempting a painting though!!

I think that this is brilliant. I have a button jar full of various types and colours. I shall look at them in a different light from now on :)

Thank you Sarah. I'd used two button boxes for years for crafts and such but never thought to paint them. Oh my what memories.
