Don't argue with me

I'd like to have this made up into a badge, to wear on my lapel... it would be so useful in meetings, and so well represent my feelings in so many of them. The rhino, this is a black one, I think, is also a creature near to my heart: I felt they weren't quite so dim as people thought when one of them very slowly turned in her enclosure at Bristol Zoo, and let fly a stream of urine in the precise direction of a noisy group of people. I shouldn't have laughed, I know..... Weary patience, and a sense of being pushed just that bit too far, is written in this animal's expression. Just one thing - the left ear is a bit featureless by comparison with the rest of the drawing; or so it seems to me?

LOL I watched a lion do exactly the same many many years ago at Belle Vue when there was a zoo there. Hit a toddler in a pushchair straight in the face with a hot stream. Never underestimate the intelligence of an animal. Totally agree about the ear. I tried to show it turned in shadow but shoudl at least have showed the edge.

Beautiful animal with the most amazing hide. We lived in Botswana near the Khama Rhino sanctuary and enjoyed watching them in the bush, they are quite incredible. I think you have captured brilliantly the texture of the hide, and given bulk and weight to that tremendous head.

Another beautifully textured drawing. I do sort of agree with Robert about the ear, but only because he pointed it out. I probably wouldn't have noticed with that prompt. Love the way you have done the leatherly skin - looks as if this was another one that took quite a few hours.
