A tricky one to tackle Michael, lots of architecture and figures, not for the faint hearted, but I can see some very clean washes applied here from that muddy water you use! (that is a compliment of course).<br />That tree could probably stand a darker tone, more so at the base but I like it...<br />

The more you look the more you see with this, and like, I have to say. I love the subtle washes to describe the play of light and shade by the seat and towards the right hand trees. Would love to see you attempt the Cherry Tree.

You're all too kind . Alan: fully agree although in the original the trees are darker in tone than is depicted in the photo. Philip - are you local? Anyway I will give the Cherry Tree a go sometime in the next couple of weeks

I tried adjusting the image but couldn't get the trees on the right to reflect the darker tones in the original - otherwise it's fairly true. Not one of my favourites but I did enjoy painting a scene that's a bit more busy than my usual choice of subject.
