Lovely sunny scene; all done in just a few brush strokes. Impressed!

Wonderful. I like it.

Fresh, loose, glowing colours, I like !

I'm glad you showed it to us before banishing it to the bottom draw Michael. I love the heavy cloud colour, may I ask what your mix was? I do envy the light you get in your watercolours.

I agree with Fiona, glad you posted it. Fresh lovely watercolour

Thanks all for your kind comments. Fiona - I put a weak wash of raw sienna in the sky roughly where the clouds were going and in the far horizon not taking too much trouble to cover the area entirely. The blue sky was put in next with a wash of ultramarine plus just a touch of light red to knock it back slightly as I find raw ultramarine is a bit too garish. The cloud shadows were then put in with a varying mix of ultramarine and light red and voila..! All very quick and without any fuss. Hope this helps.

Don't put it back in the bottom drawer Michael, mount it and frame it!

So clean and fresh and sunny. What is the very pale green you've used in the foreground if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks Fred and Val. Val - not sure as I tend to play around with mixes on the palette but I think it is probably sap green with raw sienna .

Thank you Michael, I love the grainy effect.

Thanks Michael, I have a lot of trouble with greens LOL

Did a last minute one-to-one demo and was stuck for something to do with no time to prepare - so cheated a bit - this was based on a sketch I found in a hurry in an old book by Ray Campbell Smith so it's one for the bottom drawer !
