The Gate to All Saints, Lubenham

A lovely painting of contrasts, and being the snapper-up of small details that I am, I especially like those tufts of grass between the stones lining the path; it's touches like that - and the open gate, plus the gestural marks on the path indicating dappled shadow, that really bring a painting alive.

Not surprised it was snapped up. Rich colours and loose style - lovely.

Very nice, bright watercolour with good tones and good range of greens! Not surprised this dissappeared quickly off the wall (or pew in this case).

I like this very, very much, Michael! Beautiful greens: the grass... but my favourite is the wet-in-wet of the branches in the centre of the trees!

This is simply stunning, Michael! I love the colors, the sunlight and the way the lines in the painting connect the whole. Congratulations on the sale - hardly surprising that some very discerning buyer snapped up this gem!

Lubbenham. Now theres a place I haven't been to yet. I feel a trip coming on! Lovely tones and contrast in this. I also like the shadows. It looks simple, but i know it's not! (thanks for all your kind comments by the way).
