Great atmosphere, Martin. I can relate to the impact of music when painting, and to leaving family behind somewhere; we do it often! I really like the freedom with which you've painted this, and the powerful colours.

Martin -- Painting from the heart -- I like it -- so full of atmosphere

Like it, as I usually do with your exciting though ambivalent paintings - why, though, did you abandon your daughter on the Isle of Sark? What has the poor girl done.....?

Oh, and no - painting is never easy: and it doesn't matter what you're painting - your distant daughter or a pomegranate - it never gets any easier.

I just look at your stuff and it really makes me feel good.

This made my heart skip a beat when I saw it. Made me think of the poem "The Unknown Shore" which is very special to me.

Lots of emotion in this Martin; sadness, passion, and even a little isolation. The emotion aside, it's a fabulous painting!

You didn't say painting was never easy; you said parting was never easy - I need new glasses. Although the remark is still true.....

Beautiful work.

Got home the other day and put on Elgar's 'Enigma Variations' and this is what happened! It's a month now since we left our daughter on the English Channel island of Sark - I guess this is a painting from the heart... Acrylic on canvas. 40cm x 40cm
