I like them both but for different reasons, I like the softness of the first one with the gloves and I like the bowls in the second . Both are worth hanging on the wall , quite an undertaking Marjorie but a good result.

I was thinking the title should be “ An espresso and the paper” ( because I’d painted the cup too small!). Maybe I’ll enlarge it.

I think both are very good!

The moods are entirely different, the first bathed in sunshine and quite jolly, the second more refined and also a little sombre

I’m worried about the cup on the edge of the table, despite the sunshine! I love your ceramics, but drawn to the sunshine. So I’m no use to you whatever.

They are both so lovely Marjorie

Both very well painted Marjorie 🙂

You’re right about the risk of knocking off the cup Linda 😆Thanks for all your comments, Linda, Paul, Heather, Jo, Cheryl and Stephen. I should have been out in the garden today…..guilt!

Both are very good, Marjorie but I do prefer the one with the sunlight!

I do, too, Anne. Thank you for your comment.

Love them both, would hang them on my wall anytime !!

Both great but the second one just shades it for me Marjorie

Like them both, Marjorie

Both are lovely Marjorie but I agree with Russell. It is always great to try out different approaches.

L like them both Marjorie but the one with the bowls slightly more, as it’s not fussy. Rather too much going on in the other one, although very skilfully painted.

Thanks very much for your views. I enjoyed thinking and changing and it wasn’t that straightforward. Interesting that reducing the size of the vase increases the sense of distance.

Aww I really love both. ❤️ ❤️ they can stay together like friends 🥰🙌🥰

They are both beautiful paintings of interiors Marjorie

Thank you Faye and Shaun.😁

I like them both, Marjorie, but if I had to pick one, it would be the one on the right for me.

Thanks Ellen - I’ve spent too long thinking about this😳😆….it goes away now.

Thanks for commenting Spencer 😁

Interesting exercise Marjorie with mixed results for me. I like the light better in the left one and the bowls etc are much better in the right one. I’ve found this happens when I do a second version of a painting ie. Parts of the first are better and parts of the second. Really frustrating!!

Martin, thanks for the opinion. This isn’t a second version though - I painted out the bowls and altered the rest. Burned my boats but I felt that painting was lacking. As it is , I may well paint over the whole lot, something completely different, you can certainly do that with oils.

Messing around on an old painting. I was trying to keep part of it but it proves difficult, probably better to start completely afresh. But it’s all part of the learning curve, even now.
