Don't know who she is Marjorie, but you mad a lovely job. Gorgeous work.

It's only my sense Marjorie, but the objects in the background feel to me distracting. Bit more work on the cloths, the scarf looks good. And from this photo it looks as if the nose need defining a little more. The face is good, the eyes and lovely smile great. Yes you are certainly winning. I hope a little of all that helps.

It looks wonderful to me Marjorie.

She looks nice, and nicely painted Marjorie

It's very nice trouble is if your photo is not got a dramatic light its really hard to do a powerful painting , having done commissions sooner you than me.

Thankyou Jim, it didn't come easy, unlike Cesare's. John, the photo I have is not wonderful and the nose isn't clearly defined. The person whose wife it is seems to want the objects in the background - they are of personal interest to him, I might suggest leaving them out. Looking again, perhaps I could juggle a bit with the nose but sometimes a little touch in the wrong place and the likeness is gone. Something to decide, thanks for the input. And Thankyou again Margaret and Peter.

Dennis, thanks for commenting. It's only a "gentle" portrait which I think fits the character of this person.

Wonderful portrait, Marjorie, beautiful expression and loverly skin tones.

Another lovely portrait, definitely winning Marjorie. The background doesn't add to the portrait, but if that's what the customer wants.... Looking forward to seeing the finished work.

Looks as though you are winning to me Marjorie, I admire anyone who can produce likeness portraits. As john said the nose needs a bit of defining, that's the only thing that caught my eye. Great portrait.

Very impressive work Marjorie, almost finished I think.

Nice portrait. If you think it's finished, leave it!

You've done well for the basics, Marjorie. A good foundation on which to build.

Beautiful hair and eyes Marjorie, a cracking portrait.

Thankyou everyone - I wish it was finished!

A struggle of a painting. Because it is a commission ( I never learn, but never again! ), I gridded it up from a photo. This is against my natural approach which is to go straight in and adjust as I go along. It became tight so I've taken up the palette knife and although there's more to be done, I feel I'm winning.
