I've not tried gouache myself Marjorie but this looks like a pretty good result.

Got out the gouache…never used them much. Initially I struggled ( watercolour paper, perhaps a different surface next time) but I’m fairly happy with the result. Yes, a little clumsy but I’ll continue with them. My own garden.
