Lovely portrait Marjorie.

Thanks for the story Marjorie and a gloriously sensitive portrait

What a difficult task to set yourself Marjorie. You have achieved a ghostly figure with a touch of mystery, a good combination pertinent to the play.

Thanks Heather, Stephen and Carole. Carole I’m glad you picked up that feeling - I didn’t want the portrait to dominate, it was meant to be a reminder of past tragedy.

A sad story, well captured Marjorie.

Excellent portrait work Marjorie

Sad story Marjorie, painting well portrayed.

Beautiful sensitive portrait, and really interesting to know the story.

An interesting back story, and a lovely imagined portrait.

Has a feeling of the age Marjorie. Superb piece with that bold and captivating stare

Sad story, well portrayed.

“My boy Jack” by Rudyard Kipling was performed in 2018 by Warkworth Drama Group. Kipling’s son enlisted, an act encouraged and seen by his father as a glorious gesture - he died soon after he arrived in France. Further tragedy had befallen the family some years earlier when his daughter died, aged just 8. I painted this imagined portrait for the stage set. There is a film version of this play with Daniel Radcliffe as Kipling’s son. Well worth watching.
