Promise of a glorious day

Comments

I like what you have done already Marjorie, I would love to see how you developed it more . It’s a great painting as is .

Inspiration has returned I see Marjorie, a super seascape and that sky and strip of light is gorgeous!

Beautiful, I’d leave it!

Fresh, light and so beautiful Marjorie.

I agree it's a beautiful painting!

Well I must admit I’m a bit relieved to get those positive comments - thank you! - because I’ve spent a frustrating afternoon. Paint went on and came off! I softened the foreground in the end… the thing I might do is add to the light in the sky a bit but I’ll sleep on it.🙂

Love the sense of space and isolation Marjorie and that lovely patch of light on the left. The undulations of the sand are pretty impressive and it must look very grand, at such a large size.

Not only the promise of a glorious day Marjorie but also the promise of a glorious painting! I get the impression that stood there, alone, you could feel that you were the only person on earth.

Yes Marjorie I would, it’ll give it that extra ‘zing’ factor!

Thanks Carole , Fiona, Alan - I ‘ ll go for it tomorrow😁

It's beautiful Marjorie, the light in the sky, the light on the water, the spaciousness and the sand is so convincing I can imagine it beneath my bare feet. Wish I was there!

A fabulous painting, wonderful light on the sea.

A super painting; I love this, and your other seascapes also.

Great skies and light

This is really lovely, Marjorie, beautiful light on the sea - and I like the almost square format.

This is so beautiful, Marjorie!

I think it's great as it is Marjorie, I love the vastness and that light behind the cloud and it's reflection on the sea is superb

Gorgeous, Marjorie, I feel that I could walk into your painting. Beautifully done.

Tank you everyone for all the comments…been out this morning so will do a bit more on this later. Not much though, I want to start a fresh one. I did use some cold wax on this, nice feel, will use more of that, too.

Just beautiful, Marjorie. If it were mine, I’d say it was finished!

Lovely to see your gorgeous beach scene. No more fiddling necessary.

What a great use of transitional hues that showcases all the nuances of a deceptively simple scene. This painting really has such depth and richness. Wonderful work, Marjorie!

Ellen, Gudrun, Seok, many many thanks for lovely comments - I’ve just fiddled a bit more….re posted but no need for anyone to comment again, just to see a difference. If it’s lost something, please say!

I love this Marjorie - beautiful!

Thanks Margaret - what have you been up to lately? Haven’t seen your work.
