Superb and beautifully painted Malcolm.

I was going to say 'brilliant', but then I saw Spencer had used the word, and I do hate to echo others! But -it's just the RIGHT word; this is a brilliant watercolour of this massive piece of great engineering (so great as to be a work of art in itself) - everything about it is expertly done: had I been the artist, I would have developed the patch of green in the bottom right: and thus unbalanced the composition by fiddling too much! All the right decisions were made here, from composition to draughtsmanship to treatment of the supporting features and choice of colours. A very fine painting. Congratulations.

Fabulous steam engine, glorious!

Almost beyond belief! The level of detail is outstandingā€¦

Super. I bet you are 'chuffed' with the final result.

An outstanding watercolour, the amont of detail in the engine is remarkable Malcolm.

Stunning work.

This is wonderful. So well done!

A very big thankyou to each and everyone of you who have taken the time to make comment. I really enjoyed working on this one and its great to see that the end result has been so well received. Malcolm.

A watercolour painting (A3 size) just completed. Two monsters of the steam age operating in Brazil in all their glory. For those of you who haven't seen this on the forum (work in progress) section here is the finished piece. Some time has gone into this one to get it right. Painted on Hahnemuhle 200lbs watercolour paper using 'White Nights' watercolours.
