Lynne, these are truly lovely paintings - my favourite being the one above. However, because you have posted more than the recommended amount in one go, I fear that you won't get the comments these paintings deserve. Better to post one or two at a time (one is better) and let everyone get the full impact of your lovely work.

Excellent, well executed work. Perhaps, have the gate slightly ajar to alow us to get into the picture. I particularly like the way you've handled the wall and the meeting of sky and mountains. Best Mick

Lovely portfolio Lynne

Agree with Mick. lovely work but very essential NOT to put a barrier across the painting. Open the gate and hinge it on the right hand post so as to invite the viewer INTO the painting it could be taken out as far as the end of the bush. Lovely rendering. Great sky. Exellent.

Lynne, I agree with Thea about the multiple posting and I also agree with Mick about the gate. Your work is beautiful, let us enjoy it one or two at a time!!!

I feel that your excellent composition works well, the hills and the line of trees inviting the walker to climb over the gate and venture on! The beautifully painted gate adds mystery for me!

The gate is shut- so what- there is the beautiful colour in that bush plus the trees and far distant hills ,more than enough to pull the eyes over the gate, - any way as Jo Morton said the gate can be climbed over.---If you open the gate as far as the end bush, then the gate and the bush would not let us into the picture. The composition works for me -- A little piece of magic Wonderful work

I love this atmospheric painting but agree that the gate should've been left open.

A trip to Wales with my son was meant to re motivate me, after a painters block, and this was the first of several paintings. I did not tackle the sheep behind the gate!
