Just keep reverting to them - another winner

Thanks Michael. I have had rather a lot of practice at painting these girls!

And you draw them so well louise, lively stuff.

Love your girls Louise! They are always having fun.

Your ladies are POL icons Louise! That bleed of red at the bottom is very eye catching. How's the exhibition going?

Girls just want to have fun? These seem to be enjoying themselves at any rate and they brighten up the site.

Many thanks Alan, Satu, Fiona, Gudrun and Stephen. I might paint them on holiday next :) Fiona, I don't actually know as haven't heard anything yet from the lady which organised it and hung my paintings for me. Not only that, I haven't been to see them myself!!! I'm not sure if tennis player types are really in to art but fingers are crossed! That might be why my 'ladies' look so lively then, I should uncross my fingers..LOL

Many thanks Carole :)

You just know that if you were part of this group that you would have bags of fun. Full of liveliness and vim :)

Tell me about it Louise, but I am tied up with wedding stuff. Think I might attempt this style as I have never used a rigger in this way. It is what i call painterly.

I use a well loaded rigger as I would a pencil Derek. The 'painterly' effect is because the rigger seems to have a mind of it's own and is tricky to control. It often goes in the wrong direction but I'm happy with that as my paintings certainly aren't photorealistic or even that accurate. :) Just dip the rigger in the watercolour and go for it. Then let the outlines of whatever you're drawing dry or leave damp (whichever effect you're after) and then add more solid colour with the normal paintbrush. It doesn't take long, no faffing about or rubbing out pencil lines.

When I'm at a loss to paint next, I seem to revert to my figures! Straight in with the rigger brush. Watercolour 19 cm x 21 cm
