Lovely fresh spring greens Louise! A very effective use of cling film to produce the textured band of flowers and foliage. It's great!

No - definitely not too much green because you have created so many different shades of the colour that the painting sings with excitement. I would like to know which greens you used for your palette for this very fresh and engaging work. I think it is a great idea which has been elegant executed.

That's very kind of you Christine and Thea but I'm not quite sure about it. I'll put it to one side for a few days as I'm considering adding some more darks but as it's so big, I don't want to rush in and ruin it! I used quite a few greens that I have and haven't really used before. Whether they are still available to buy, I'm not sure as the tubes look pretty old! Terre verte, sunlit green ( a really acidic looking colour) Windsor emerald, Oxide of Chromium, Windsor green, green gold (I think, but the name has worn off the tube) W&N artists' watercolour, to name just a few..

Greens are as beautiful as any colour this series is superb Louise

It's really big and beautiful Louise! I love the different greens but it might be a good idea to consider adding some darker tones here and there to make those lovely flowery shapes to come out more.

Not at all, Louise! Stunning work - excellent composition and full of energy and light. One of my favorites among your recent works.

Having admired this I will try harder to work with greens, used to stay clear of a lot. Stunning piece Louise

Yes - one of my favourites too, Forgive me but have you tried it the other way up with the light source at the top? Might work even better

Thank you all. I've already turned it the other way up Michael! I'll look at it again in a few days, for me, it's not quite working. I think that I might add some darker tones. I really do appreciate hearing your thoughts on this one.

Very very nice Louise - some really interesting things going on.

Well, I like it as it is, but then I like bright! You could tinker or you could do a similar one with more dark, rather than change this irreversibly!

I can see primroses in this Louise and a good selection of spring greens going on too. I went for a walk in a field which had so many primroses growing in it and seeing this lovely painting reminds me of it :)

Many thanks Joseph, Gudrun and Sarah. I also like bright Gudrun but it's the green in the top half which is too much. I'll see how it goes. Those words primroses and fields are an idea for a title Sarah, I see them here as well! (especially the grass..lol)

Watercolour, cling film and masking fluid used here. Perhaps too much green! 'Spring Greens' then? lol. 54 cm x 75 cm.
