Pink? So what it works really well Louise.

Masterly use Louise and a lovely painting

Thank you Derek and Dennis. I need to dig out an old credit card Derek! I used the edge of a piece of card here smeared in masking fluid. A credit card edge might have given me sharper lines in places. Tomorrow then!

Blimey Louise - welcome to the abstract club - and what a winner!!

Thank you Michael, will it cost me? lol

No - no cost - just a commitment to post an abstract every so often. I know I've going on about abstracts but I do think they enhance the gallery. This one certainly does.

Stunning! Colour, form, and mystery.....really love this Louise.

What a wonderful splash of colour Louise! I'm loving seeing these abstracts and this is a winner!

Wow! What a way to shake everyone up! Brilliant!

Thanks Fiona, Christine and Marjorie for you kind words. I'd intended this to be in pale, soft colours but as often happens to me, it just went darker and darker. Not at all what I had in mind!

That is a beautifully controlled abstract Louise! To be able to create an abstract painting without producing an incomprehensible mess is an art and skill in itself. People often say that anybody could do it but let them try first and we will see what happens. It's harder than you think. There has to be a certain balance in the composition and colours and you have to trust yourself and open your mind. I think that you have ticked all the boxes here and even with all that pink in different shades it works!

Loosely based on a hedgerow? Gosh, I wish I could "loosely base" a painting on anything at all and come close to this! I see no hedgerow. I see a lot of pink, which I normally hate. Bluey-reds not much better. But here I see fascinating and live, flowing, almost dancing shapes. Most importantly, I see an image with an overall vibrancy - an excitement that I cannot at all explain. The dancing shapes somehow come together in perfect harmony - and the colours that I might otherwise find awful look similarly perfect! Sorry if this sounds a bit silly, but this is an image that really reaches out and touches me!

Well thank you Satu and Bill for saying such lovely things about this one. It's based on another 'Hedgerow' painting I did some time ago but evolved somehow in to this. Fascinating how we see different things isn't it. I see twigs and leaves but then they are in my head. I'm delighted that you like it so much and really appreciate you saying so. Actually, I'm a bit taken aback by the absolutely super things you say!

very different work Louise but works very well. good feeling of movement and vibrant, transparent colour, watercolour at its best.

Yummy, yummy ,yummy! I want to eat it :) it's soooooo yummy! Huge compliments but have run out of words to describe your off the wall painting and had to think of an off the wall compliment!

Lovely vibrant work, Louise!

Many thanks Stephen, Sarah and Seok!

I love all 3 of these paintings Louise. Glorious colours!

I'm gobsmacked at this Louise - every now and again you step it up to another level and give us all a gentle boot up the butt lol. A superb abstract - best abstract painting Ive seen on POL

Loosely based on a hedgerow. Trying something a bit different and probably inspired by all the super abstracts I've seen here which is why I enjoy looking at the site so much! 32 cm x 42 cm
