It's come to life lovely and full of joy

Lovely rich and sumptuous colours and a lively and free drawing. You are really, really good at these Louise (and sorry it has taken me a while to find it and comment but our phone line and Broadband has gone down yet again - suspect the culprit is the high winds tonight. Joys of living in the countryside (not!).

Super as always - you seem to have a knack of choosing a great palette for your works.

This is .... Can't find the words Louise, to tell you how much I like this street scene! I love the colours, the vibrancy and most of all the figures which make this painting alive. Fab!!

You have a lovely knack and skill in capturing these scenes Louise.

It's those colours! They give the atmosphere of a warm, crowded street where the people are the focus. But how quick is quick?

Lovely warm nighttime scene. Brilliant.

Thank you all for your super comments which you know I appreciate greatly! Marjorie, I tend to work very quickly with watercolour otherwise I start to fiddle and loose the spontaneity. I know that I rushed this off, straight in with the paint, before putting tea in the oven and it had gone dark so probably about an hour..The colours came about because originally the painting looked lifeless so with nothing to loose, once dry, I washed over areas with red and orange to brighten it up. Not Mancunian colours really. I like to take risks, sometimes it's works, sometimes not, but for me, that's the joy of painting.

Bright and Bold!

Always fresh and lively, Louise. The palette is super, and I'd certainly be interested in seeing an abstract version!

This is a powerful little picture!

This is well groovy - love the pallet

Another version painted quickly, no pre drawing on the back of the other one! Two phone boxes have made an appearance and they are there in real life. I have it in my head to try a real abstract version now after seeing some really good abstracts here. That's the beauty of this site I think. Encouraging comments and inspiration for which I thank you! 38 cm x 28 cm
