A superbly accomplished watercolour - this caught my eye straight away. I love it.

Many thanks Joseph and Gudrun!

Count me in too - Caught my eye as well

A beautiful strong imaginative water colour.

The little village is back and what a change! I absolutely love the colours you have used Louise and I wonder if they make the impossible to spell gold in acrylic too. Your painting is fantastic!!!

You seem to be coming full circle as this reflects the style you used to paint in a while back, so you have married your current thinking on a limited palette with the design concept you are familiar with and it works extremely well. It just shows that we forge ahead but we also remain anchored to the past, but that is good as no experience is wasted. This painting has wonderful depth and richness. All it is missing is your signature moon!

Lovely expressive work Louise, and you've got those gorgeous colours singing so well together. Inspiring.

Well, thank you all so much. Thea, I knew I'd forgotten to include something..a moon!! I say, never give up on a painting, well, maybe sometimes..lol..This one really wasn't going anywhere until I washed over it with the bright pinky red. Then it just came to life, for me anyway! Satu, I could call it 'little village' but won't do because that would really be regression on my part!! Where has the time gone and why do I go back and paint old subjects like this? I suppose they're always with us and resurface now and again.

How about 'Paint the Village Red'.......love the colours, they look brilliant together. Your 'old subject' has aged much better than my 'old' subject!Lol.

You know Fiona, possibly it was seeing your old reworked one that lead me to paint this! A fresh approach is a good idea. I'm sure (hope) that we haven't aged at all..lol

The quin red makes it very harmonious Louise, 'mellow evening'.

Looks great, as Carole said very harmonious. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of these village paintings again.

A bit of an experiment really (which sounds like an excuse I know!). I'd planned to use just the three colours, q gold, violet and windsor blue. Things didn't go to plan so I washed over it with quinacridone red..
