Love the bus Louise, that orange is stunning, which orange is it?

Thank you Carole! Two colours used again, Windsor Orange and Windsor Blue (red shade). Limiting the colours used can bring surprising results and there's non of that thinking which colour to add next which makes life easy. The sky here was actually a paler blue but I had a bad water mark on it so painted over for a foggy day effect. The whole thing took about 20 minutes.

Not logged onto POL for a few days due to the arrival of a new grandson Frederick Thomas, your cityscapes are terrific Louise and the bus gives them a new perspective. I can see a rash of buses now between you and Dennis, I wonder if anyone else will join in!

This works very well Louise, good control of the washes merging together, mine usually flood over each other. I also like the foggy atmosphere with the lit windows shining through. It reminds me of an Adolphe Vellette picture in Manchester art gallery, of a foggy canal scene with illuminated windows of an office block in the distance

Many thanks Christine and congratulations! Thanks Stephen for your very kind comment! I've been using Khadi cotton rag paper which gives me good control of the washes. I can't seem to get the same effect on my usual watercolour paper.

Beautiful bright colour, Louise. I love the contrast with the background. Well done!!

Very effective Louise! Great contrasting colours too :)

Lovely work Louise and super to see you are carrying on with these busy town centre watercolours with lovely deep colours

Lovely work Louise - it inspires me! I have just started dabbling with watercolour again - not a medium I feel in control of!

Ah - are we moving on to London scenes now - there's a thought, or do they have red buses in Manchester as well? I think you should consider London scenes - think of all that resource material for your super loose paintings! This one is great and the red bus has so much impact. You've worked really well within the confines of the two colours.

Brilliantly done Louise, love these two colours together.

Many thanks Mia, Sarah, Ros, Julie, Gudrun and Thea. The bus had to be either blue or orange and I chose orange for the impact. Red wouldn't have been so effective here! It's based on Oxford Road, Manchester which is always busy with buses going up to the University. London scenes don't really appeal, I'm a true Mancunian and am rather fond of the place..lol

Thank you Fiona as well!

Lovely sketch, nice colours as always

That bus really stands out, great sketch as always Louise.

Very very good Louise, I love it!

Thank you Petra, Val and Satu.

Love the two colours and watery effect.

sorry louise you are so quick I missed it but im glad you did it its a cracker I like it loadssssssss . well done louise

I told you you was good

Really well done Louise. The bus is fantastic and I think is the most accurate vehicle that you have ever done without any loss of freshness. This has really raised the bar - brilliant.

Many thanks Dennis and Joseph, your words are appreciated!

The orange bus, which I'm quite pleased with having never painted or even thought about painting before if it hadn't been for one of my previous buildings looking rather like one..lol
