A lovely atmospheric piece, Lionel. Love the mellow palette, which works so well for a pastoral scene. So sorry to hear you've not been well. I wish you a speedy and complete recovery.

Thank you so much, Seok, for your comments about the painting and for your kind words re my health, which is gradually improving, I'm glad to say. Your lone voice here is much appreciated!

How are you keeping Lionel? It's a while since I looked in on the POL site....my apologies if I have missed any of your work. I hope your health has improved since the above comment from Seok. Have you managed to get some time away to re-charge your batteries, somewhere in the sun? I've done a little painting but I don't think you would recognise it as mine. I've joined an established art group with a very good teacher, who is himself a professional artist. It's for oils only which is a new-ish medium for me, it's also (for this term) still life subjects. I'm finding it very challenging and haven't had the courage to post anything I've done.....it isn't pretty!!Lol. Are you painting? My very best wishes to you......fiona x

Hi Fiona.. Thank you so much for the note above. I actually left a reply on your HMS Malaya painting but I'm not sure you have seen it yet. Regards, Lionel. x

My apologies Lionel for not answering sooner. I don't know where time goes at the moment....I have a day off today!! Not that I work, I belong to too many groups and clubs I think. And with us fast approaching Christmas, all these groups have lunches....three down, four to go lol. I was interested to read that you fancy trying out the new watercolour markers, there was an article in the saa mag of a mixed media painting, where the artist used a number of them to great effect. It sounds as though they would prove to be a very convenient medium to use, especially if you paint outdoors or travel a lot. Have you put them in your letter to Santa? It's the last of my oil class lessons next week, for this term anyway. Dare I say, I see a small improvement...the teacher is pleased with my progress so that's something. Wish I could let you see them without having to post on the gallery....and ALL the universe looking at them!....and laughing! Lol. I managed to complete a coule of very rough and loose watercolours at my Friday art group, but again I seem to have lost all confidence in posting on the gallery. There are some excellent artists on there at the moment, mind you there are one or two at the other end of the scale too......I should fit in at that end! Keep well Lionel and I hope that some of your previous troubles , if not all, have come to a happy conclusion. My very best to you and your wife, Fiona x

Wishing you and your wife the very best of the season Lionel, have a lovely Christmas and peaceful new year. Fiona x

Hi Lionel, I'm so glad to hear yourself and Mary are keeping well....and I'm really happy to hear the note of positivity in your comments. I guess you have been making some important decisions which is always condusive to health and happiness. Long may it continue, and I hope the brush with the Spanish tax authorities is a casual one!Lol. I also hope you will continue to paint...keep those paints out of the garage!! My very best wishes to you both. Fiona X

Not well, I'm afraid so not much painting done. But I have been watching you and loads of super stuff on here. As usual, the photograph is not up to much, all a bit too dark but I can't change it now.
