Tree Trunks Part Two

Tree Trunks Part Two
Comments

The problem with the first one was that some of the boughs seemed thicker at the top than at the bottom, as I remember, and you've completely corrected that, while keeping the very attractive colour of your first painting; and you've not worked it to death, so I should call that a result! I should certainly be pleased to have painted it.

Yes, I love the textures in your painting Lionel and the colours, very fresh.

Thank you, Robert and Carole for your comments. You are correct about the top-heavy thickness of the trees, Robert. In all honesty I am quite pleased with the end result and for the constructive criticism that helped me to achieve it. I will continue to view both your galleries with envy!

Beautiful texture on these trees, and throughout this painting. I like your use of colour on the trees too, it all works extremely well.

Thank you so much, Lesley. Your very kind comments are most encouraging.

Agree with all of the above comments, lovely colours and texture, very relaxing to look at.

Many thanks, Val. Don't get too relaxed.....you should be adding to your already stunning gallery. That sunflower is superb.

I think you have made a 'silk purse' out of this one Lionel, : ) Well done its lovely.

As trees are one of my favourite subjects for painting and drawing, I like this one. Beautiful texture and colours. Well done.

Agree with everyone, this is a wonderful piece.

Congratulations Lionel on this painting being on Images of the Month!

Let me add my congratulations Lionel , Well done.

Many thanks for the Congrats ! I must admit I am really pleased. (Carole; I couldn't find your comment earlier because I have never had anything go to Page 2 before!!).

Lionel - Thank you for your helpful advice on my efforts at trees. I very much appreciate you taking the time to help. I had already seen this picture of yours as it was recommended by another POL user as an excellent piece of work to view.. My challengeis satify my biggest art critic, my wife, with something at least half as good as your stunning piece!

Excellent interpretation of the trees. I love these wonderful colours and textures that you have used!

I posted this picture on 27th Nov and received some excellent feedback and ideas, particularly from Ruth Dolan and William Dennis. I have tried to take those suggestions on board. Unfortunately, instead of starting a new painting I tried to tart up the one I posted! Big mistake. It didn't work, in the sense that I have finished up with a picture that I didn't set out to paint! My next mistake was that the original canvas board was too small so, while I actually used a knife, I couldn't really slap on the heavy body acrylic as I intended in this second approach. Ah well, press on. Further suggestions and constructive criticism would be very much appreciated.
