Blustery Day

Blustery Day

And it really looks like a blustery day, full of sunshine and movement. Personally I would leave it just as it is, Lionel, and good to see you back!

I agree with Jane, I would be very happy with this Lionel. Finally found the Z after close srutiny!

Lovely painting Lionel

In my opinion, Lionel, nothing wrong with this: lovely landscape. Well done, I like it!

Thank you so much everyone for taking the time to record your very kind comments. They are all really appreciated. Well, Kirstie, it could be Zorro, although I was actually using a knife, not a sword, at the time to layer on the paint. lol.

Welcome back Lionel.....what a great posting! Bright and breezy and just right the way you have done it, I wouldn't change it.

Three questions and three answers in order as follows; there's an old man asleep just round the corner, no, and no. Leave it as it is - a super painting.

Hi Fiona! Thank you for your lovely comments, (What were you doing up at that time of night??). Just love your answers, Michael, and thanks a lot.

Love this textured and energetic work Lionel, I agree with above comments, leave it!

I've just spotted the Z - well, it wouldn't be hard to paint that out, if you want to. Otherwise, I think this is another step forward for you - the way the road winds into the picture is a very good touch, and I don't think it needs any more shadow or tone, or foreground detail. You are probably best advised to leave it alone at this point - you can always find more things to do if you want to.... (I so often do!) - you COULD, for instance (mind, I'm not saying you should!) add a little dark on the shadow side of the foremost tree, or even sketch in a couple of twiggy branches - without losing the sense of movement you've achieved. But on the whole, I wouldn't; you said what you wanted to say in this one and it doesn't need a lot of further refinement.

A lovely piece, Lionel. The movement of the trees is absolutely spot on and the atmosphere is super.

I've just noticed a letter Z in the clouds!! Where did that come from? Should the road be somewhat lighter and more varied in tone?? Should there be more texture in the left- foreground??
