A Night Out

Give up?? Never. You are streets ahead of me, and i would be chuffed to produce work like this. Lovely fresh colours that tell a tale without being overy fussy. You have a distinctive and individual style, which is far more important than comparing your work to someone elses. I like it - and many others would too. I reckon you could sell this (in a good frame of course). The only thing i would suggest would be to put much more light into the windows (reds/orange/yellow) to accent the idea of it being "a night out". I put my lights on at night, and I bet you do too - so paint it that way. But - without that - it's still a fine painting. Keep 'em coming!

I think this is really interesting Lionel, I love the tall glowing buildings and the colours. The figures are very good too. Looks like they are enjoying themselves! Please never give up! ;-)

Super painting Lionel. I love the colours and shapes of the buildings. The windows are beautifully done, not to much detail, just right! I wouldn't put any more lights in those windows, they're perfect as they are :)

Also, I doubt if any of us are completely happy with our paintings. I know that I never am, I just hope that others don't see the bits that I'm not happy with :)

Grief no - keep going. Your paintings are always fresh and interesting and this is no exception - I do like the composition and the way you have handled the figures is great. Look forward to more postings.

Good Heavens!! I am genuinely surprised and, of course, pleased to receive your very kind words and encouragement. Also, the observations are very interesting. Some beg to differ whilst I note that Louise, like me, is never happy with her work, (although I think her paintings are superb). And, yes, Fiona, it is nice to be missed. However, be careful what you wish for; I can feel another posting coming on!
