They all look great characters to me, whatever the medium Lewis.

Like your thought process and 4 great characters too

They all really well done, all are excellent colours in there own way any would be acceptable as a pieces of artwork. I’m always amazed as how you get such a excellent finished with coloured pencils Lew , no matter what I cannot get same smooth finish .

Thanks Sandra, Heather and Paul. Paul, I use mostly water soluble coloured pencils, once you use a brush with clean water, the pencils are similar the watercolours. You can use them dry, but I rarely do that.

The colour in the two left pictures is superb as are the characters

Great characters. When I think about it, whenever you look at a Lew caricature there is a part of your brain that says, 'I think I know somebody who looks like that.'

Four great sketches, Lewis, I prefer the mediums used on both left hand pics.

Love them all Lewis no matter what you use. Love the sunken cheeks lady and the one withe smile

All four are superbly drawn Lewis but I have to say that 'Old Bill' is my favourite. But then top left .... hmm?

No matter what medium, all skillfully done . I always like coloured pencils as I find watercolour very difficult.

All great Lewis, top left being my favourite.

Brilliant illustrations and expressive characters. Good one Lewis.

What you do is not boring, just think of that when you need to take time to bring out your best Lewis. Old bill there is a strong character.

A great collection of characters beautifully done, Lewis!

Four great sketches Lewis and I particularly like the ones on the left. As someone else has said the woman top left looks familiar.

Very good Lewis, you could make a cartoon series with those characters!

Fabulous characters Lewis.

All fantastic, Lewis

Love the Jason Statham blue chin Lew. . Reminds me of our night school teacher. ((-:

I like your thinking, Lewis. Coloured pencil on its own takes too long and likely to give you RSI. Watercolour on its own - too wish washy. Top left is glorious!

Thinking of making large pic with lots of characters, deciding on medium. Bottom right-detailed pen drawing plus thin wash...would take too long...and wishy washy. Coloured pencil on it's own would also taken too long. (I get bored easily). Top left...watercolour plus coloured pencil, no pen seems OK. Bottom left...Old Bill (Sykes)...when stuck for a subject I draw a Dickens character. Used watercolour with added body (chinese white)...OK but can get muddy. So it'll be w/colour and coloured pencil

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
