Wonderful short story and illustration and the rats look so happy.

Good on Tobias, another wonderful drawing to make me smile.

Superb work Lew , a great story and artwork.

Another cracker Lewis! I love the detail, his gnarly hands, the cage, gloves, and rat on the top of the door. Yes they do all look pleased with themselves. My hubby and his mates have traps at the allotments because they are constantly plagued with little beasties trying to eat the veg before we can, and if caught they do not get such a happy ending! 🐀

Love the story and illustration, especially the happy little rats!

Great artwork and heartwarming story. Rats get such bad press from humans it’s good to see another side

Superbly creative.

Just keep them coming Lew; I love all your characters.

Thank you for brightening up Monday morning, yet again I am pleased to say.

Great narrative and the last line made me chuckle. Always like the detail in your pictures Lewis- like the rat peeping over the top of the door.

Brilliant 🐀🐀🐀

Thank you for my morning chuckle Lewis. An amazing characterisation.

Excellent Lewis.

Every one a gem. Even the rats have expressions. Love that rat on the door top.

Another goodie 🥰

I wonder why! Brilliant Lew, love the story.

Thanks very much for your comments.

I like rats too, love your rats Lew…..I bet they all have names!

Just the sort of thing Robert would do I think as he's a fan of rats! Can't help but smile at those happy little rats.

Great colour harmony and as usual great colour.

Happy Ratty! Superbly illustrated as usual, Lewis!

Hilarious humour and wonderful imagination, Lewis! When are you going to make a book ???

What a nice man but I can guess why his wife left him. Great story and a great illustration Lewis.

Had to look up what Victorian ratcatchers used...I settled on the cage thing and the thick gloves. A3 sketchbook, dip-pen and watercolour. Text added in Photoshop.
