4 Dickensian sketches

Four excellent characters Lew drawn in your superb style. If asked I could not choose a favourite as they are all so good .

I forgot to add that the cockling adds to them it give them a old look .

Such a great writer, and such interesting sketches!

4 super characters!

Great end to the week. My favourite? The 'blind' beggar bottom right.

Number one for me and the kids faces. Sweet music doesn't cover it. (-:

Smashing! My favourite Dickens is A Christmas Carol, have to watch the film every year at this time. 👍🏻🤣🎄

Yes, the blind beggar but they are all so good - you always give my husband a laugh Lewis.

Great characters Lewis and a story in every one.

What I love about all your work as brilliant as they are Lewis. You are preserving history and reminding us all with your delightful and wicked humour how rich our history and English Language was and still is.

The Christmas Carol is a favorite of mine Tessa, I read it every year around this time which is why I start drawing this stuff. I'll watch the Albert Finney movie this year...I've read it has a title sequence by Ronald Searle, a favorite artist of mine.

Love the effects of the paper and your wonderful characters. They all betray such human traits that you observe so acutely. Brilliant Lewis.

Love your take on Marley Lewis…..all fab!

Wonderful stuff Lewis.

Lol brilliant drawings Lewis 🙂

Can never get enough of your illustrations Lewis, absolutely brilliant.

Love the Hooray Henry and the singers’ tonsils. Mr Marley is no Bob, very Miserable. I think someone should sing “Don’t worry, be happy “ to him. I hope not to see any blind beggars this Xmas, but then, I will be staying hooe in the comparative warmth.

The paper suits the characters Lewis. Old and battered. Brilliant again

Choc full of character, Lewis

As Christmas looms I like to make some Dickensian pictures. These are sketches to get me in the mood, made on cockled spare pages in various sketchbooks...OK for this stuff. Pencil.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
