Always a treat see these marvellous images.

Like all of these Lewis, the fat cat with the money seems particularly pertinent at the moment.

All good and different styles - I like the steam punk lady!

I do like your fiddling about with the characters Lew , I do quite like the first one.

Such diverse characters. Yes bottom left very topical at the moment!

Stephen, Andrew, Heather and Dixie, thank you for your comments. Dixie, the sketch for the first one was to see if I liked the idea before making the full painting. I didn't like it much and haven't done the painting. Just one of the things sketchbooks are for. (Same with the cartoon top right.)

Great sketches, Lewis, I think I like the first one best, it’s a bit mysterious.

I never cease to be surprised by the breadth of your imagination.

Smashing characters Lewis.

Great to see the thinking process behind the work. We don't often get to see artist's sketchbooks which is a shame I think. I agree wholeheartedly about the current situation being too depressing for words or art but I am sure the circle will turn once again. Great job Lewis.

Love the steam punk cleaner!

You're so good at these Lewis, especially like the steam punk cleaner.

If I had your imagination I'd draw all day and all night.

Nice to hear your thoughts on your 'always interesting' work Lewis, love your 'Steampunk' cleaner.

These really show your versatility, Lewis. I particularly like the Fat Cat painting - you always manage to nail the expressions on the head!

Thanks again to everybody for your wonderfully supportive comments.

As always very good ! So keep fiddling and bringing a smile !!

Always good to follow your thoughts of process with your work Lewis.

Fabulous characters Lew, love the steampunk cleaner…

Always smile when I see your images.

Top left, an idea for a bigger painting...don't like it. Top right, some cartoonists use a minimalist style with flat colour...had a go...I like it when I see others' work, but not when I try it. So won't be doing any more that style. Bottom left was to be another 'Fat Cat' cartoon about the current situation, but it's too depressing, so I didn't finish it. Various A4 sketchbooks, pen, w/clr, pencils.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
