I do like this Lew , and old friend on mine has his shed set up for war gaming. Whilst people did poke fun it was amazing, almost a sculpture. This is Beautifully drawn , the detailing is excellent. Love the names of the two fellas .

Looks like it is, 'Not tonight Josephine, Oswald is gaming'. Brilliantly done, love Ernie Boot's nickname.

Wow incredible!! 👌 fab detailed drawing Lewis

What a happy and contented man, love it!

You can just imagine them can't you, playing for hours, brilliant Lewis.

I know nothing of war gaming Lew, except what I saw in the brilliant film "Ronin", but this, like all your work is great, and the detail amazing. . Wellington Boot indeed..(-:

Another winner Lewis.

Love the look of contentment and those amazing twinkling eyes Lewis. Such beautiful skilful details as always.

Real character in his face.

Brilliantly observed and drawn as always Lewis

🤗 I can only laugh and clap this one Lewis. How happy they both will be ! Great character and detail as always.

Thanks very much to everybody for your great response to this pic. I knew a couple of blokes who were into this. Their models, both soldiers and scenery were terrific...lots of tiny soldiers they painted with hands a lot steadier than mine. They were well up on the history of the period, as well as the battles.

Great piece Lewis, love their names.

Aw, this is brilliant, and love those names.

Superb Lew as always, he looks so happy with his lot.

Hilarious! I have been to Waterloo and seen Napoleon’s death mask. It takes me back. I also visited the Tavistock Xmas tree this morning and thought of you when I saw that the Tavistock Men in sheds club had decorated and contributed a tree!

Thanks again for your kind comments. Glad to hear that 'men-in-sheds' is alive and well, Linda.

I just love that pose, the hand in the waistcoat, so good! :)

OUTSTANDING WORK LOVE IT.....

I have to admit I find this type of war gaming - the Napoleonic Era with model soldiers and battlegrounds - very intriguing. Many of the models are like miniature works of art. Mixed media - 16 x 12 inches.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
