I forgot to say in my description that the drawing on the left is illustrating the first line of 1984. Orwell almost got it right...Big Brother is certainly with us, though not quite in the form he wrote about. Also I read that the UK has one of the highest CCTV cameras to population ratios in the world. They're out there watching you...spooky.

Both of these just display your flexibility and talent Lew. Great colours and detail in the girl sketch and yes, Orwell wasn't far out.

Our movements can so easily be tracked so Orwell's vision was accurate from that point of view. Love the sketch and the girl is so beautifully done, especially her hat Lewis.

Great work all round, Lew, and that Orwell allusion is eerily accurate. The girl has such a convincing expression, one of curiosity and mild disdain. She's so well done. bri

Both great drawings Lew!

Totally agree. Lewis. I read 1984 for the first time in 1965...it terrified me! It still does! Conspiracy theorist that I am!! Brilliant. both of these!

I think I know that girl....you captured her look very well, Lewis!

Thanks again to those who've commented. You may know her Timothy, she's an actress who had a role in a film about Renoir's last years. Don't know her name but she played a model who was Renoir's last muse. She married Renoir's son, who went on to become an acclaimed film director. The film was called 'RENOIR', a French Film. I thought it was great, not sure how well it did at the box office, but it will certainly appeal to anyone who paints.

Both super works Lewis. Big brother does watch us all the time, frightening really.

Love the oil sketch of the girl, Lewis, it's beautifully done.

Beautiful portrait Lewis

I like both and think the oil looks good, still recognizably you even in this different medium.

I mentioned I'd revamped our spare bedroom a month ago...I kept my old art under the bed. During the changes I found some pics I'd forgotten about. Here's two I haven't posted.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
