Call me Ishmael.
The famous opening line from Herman Melville's 'Moby Dick.' A4 sketchbook, water soluble pencil. A sketch for a possible painting...I was intending to draw more background, but have left it with the merest hint of background. It IS just a sketch. Having done it, I think I'll make Ishmael full length in the painting, striding down a hill to the New Bedford Whaling town. When I get round to it.
About the Artist
Lewis Cooper
Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
