Great interpretation and some rather pleasant countryside Lew.

I am sure you could turn your hand to landscapes if you wanted to, that looks quite accomplished. The feet were a large oversight, that what makes Hobittses Hobittses.

Another super character, Lewis. The landscape background is lovely, particularly the sky.

Your landscape is fabulous! Im jealous of your tree ha ha.

Whole thing is great Lew. That's a better treee than mine. (-:

Ah , but the feet are on the right legs !! - perhaps he's had a "wax" ?

Can you do Gollum, Lewis?

Middle Earth looking great as well as Bilbo Baggins 😀

Another great piece Lewis showing us your skill at landscapes too. Lovely sky.

Thanks to all for taking the trouble to comment. Yes Jennifer and Jim, as I've said before trees aren't easy for me...it's either lollipops or doing every leaf (almost). Had several goes at the tree on the left...ended up having to over-paint with gouache.

The whole painting looks marvellous, your landscape and sky is wonderful and of course Bilbo is excellent.

Great painting, Lewis, particularly that truly smashing sky. One of my favourite characters in LOTR and The Hobbit. Brian

Well! A great favourite story in our family. Yes, Alan...has to be pleasant countryside... the shires!!! I count them as home even after 20 years away! This is so lovely, Lewis! A whole series would be...well...magickal!!!

love it ,your very talented

Ah, middle earth, one of my favourite places to escape to. I could live here in your landscape Lewis, spot on as always.

Great painting.

One f my favourite books. Great interpretation Lewis apart from the hairy feet.

From Tolkein's stories. Mixed media. A3 sketchbook. Only when I'd finished did I remember that Hobbits have very large hairy feet. Ho-hum. This is the nearest I get to a landscape, albeit a made-up one.
