Lovely! Isn't that Bertie Wooster in the background?

Picture perfect for me Lewis. Perfection is a hard task master is it not. Fabulous.

Well, worth the overpainting, another very good one Lewis

Very good Lewis.

Very appealing. I like!

Like this Lew , sorry you not happy with it . Well I think Art Cooper is a better deal that Art Deco and would much prefer a Cooper any day .

Great job here Lew! I love this style…

Great style, Lewis, and love the colours.

I am always surprised at the elements that you put into a paining be it humorous Lew or serious Lew. I like it.

Love the image that offers a story Lewis

Thanks to all for your great comments. Dixie...it's not that I'm unhappy with it, I'm as happy as I ever am...we all of us want to do better. I mentioned that I'd first painted in a flat colours with watercolour. I see this style often in paintings I like, but not when I try it myself. Gouache allowed me to overpaint the watercolour. So it's better than it was,

Love the imagery in this - the moon, the stars, the palm trees. Very good piece.

Beautiful Deco style picture, excellent colours.

I really like this Lewis and think the overpainting had added to its appeal.

Great style Lewis.

Very stylish! A touch of the South of France, Noel Coward et al…..you’ve set my imagination going Lew.

A great art deco style to this Lewis.

Another stab at Deco. This started using flat colours with no shading for the girl and car etc. I've liked this when seen on other's work, but I didn't like it when I tried it here. So the girl and car were overpainted with gouache (watercolour underneath), not too bad on the girl, less happy with the car. So this is Art Deco in spirit, if not in style. Watercolour, gouache, Indian ink and pen. 16 x 12 inches.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
