Ah yes! Our dog passed on to that great dog walk in the sky a year ago, and this made me remember some of the daft things she did! Yes they are man’s best friend. Ours was besotted by my hubby, wouldn’t leave his side. Made me smile.

Love it , it’s superb in both humour and artwork Lew , we wouldn’t know if you had made a mistake and I still can’t see where .

...and he is so happy to help. Good one, Lew.

Time for walkies I think, super artwork Lew 🐕

Excellent drawing Lewis, can’t see that it’s overworked at all.

Always beautifully drawn and such nice humour. Do you go straight into the work with coloured pencils Lewis?

Think it's a good drawing Lewis, and makes you smile, so it turned out well in the end.

Doesn't look mucked up to me - very good and that dog is an absolute character I recognise well!

Thank you for your comments. George, I lightly draw the body shapes, no detail, just to be sure I'll get it all on the page. Then I draw it properly with a water-soluble coloured pencil...use a damp brush to blend, when dry I touch up where necessary with a dry pencil. Stephen, when I'd drawn the dog's head I thought it would have been better for the dog to have it's lead in it's mouth...walkies...but it was too late to change it.

Great humour and drawing Lewis.

Brilliant - love the furiously wagging tail!

This is just lovely. We have cats - who just walk disdainfully through the cement leaving a line of paw prints!

Thing is Lew - no one would have known you had trouble with this if you hadn't told us... the blush of quiet pride always beats the self-lacerating confession: I commend this duplicitous and self-seeking advice to you. And it still made me laugh.

We couldn't do without our best friends and they are most helpful at the most inconvenient times. Great stuff Lewis.

So good…such great expressions on both their faces.

This is brilliant Lewis, and who is master here?

I just read the comments Lewis, yes shame about the lead. Just a little thing like that makes such a difference. To me this picture is saying from the dog’s point of view, “ I am the master.”

It's a fabulous piece, Lewis - exactly what I can imagine my dogs doing!

Love it! I could imagine this happening with a furry friend. Great work!

I knew there was a reason why I don’t have a dog! Lovely drawing though, Lewis.

Just brilliant, Lewis and so funny - love that dog!

Overworked? Not for me it isn't Lewis.

Seen this happen, brilliant Lew.

Maybe not when you're laying cement, but it could result in an interesting spatter effect. Coloured pencil. The dog's a little overworked. The initial drawing was OK, then I mucked it up. My attempts to 'un-muck' it up resulted in overworking.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
